Decorative Embroidery Stitches : Basque Stitch


Basque Stitch

Basque Stitch is also known as Twisted Daisy Border Stitch. It is a combination of Detached Chain Stitch and Buttonhole Stitch.

It is a beautiful decorative stitch that can make any plain neckline of dresses look wonderful.
It can be used along with beads to enhance its beauty. It can be stitched with multicoloured threads to give a fabulous effect.

Whipped Basque Stitch

Basque Stitch whipped with another thread looks divine.

Let's see how this stitch is worked.






Doesn't this look like the flower shown in the picture below? It is called the Pieris japonica ' white'.


So here I go to experiment more on this.
Planning to use this for a neckline on my dress.
