Remember You And Love You Always!

Things are not the same this Christmas. My world and life have gone upside down and shaken to the limit that everything shattered.

If at all Dearest Santa Claus were to ask me for a wish this Christmas, I would ask him to bring back my little son from the safe and secure arms of Jesus ( that is what others tell me where my son is).

I started crocheting for him 4 years back when he was born. I made for him so many things and now I have only those things and all his memories.
Its been 4 months and I am still trying to come to terms with it.

I pray that god gives me strength.
Love you baby..........

I don't want to make this space any personal, but thought that this had to be said here as this blog truly belongs to him and is here because of him.

Single Crochet Pouch : Project for Beginners

This is the part of the Learn Crochet series

This is a very simple project that requires only Single Crochet.
Wonderful and easy to do with lots of possibilities in color combination.

This is not yet completed....
It needs a lining, a zipper and probably a handle ( I have made a buttonhole at the sides for the handle and can be seen in the first picture).

Materials Used

I have used a local worsted weight yarn and a 3.5 mm hook
The base measures 7 x 2.5 inches and the height of the pouch is almost 7 inches.

Pattern

  • The base of the pouch is made first and then continued as the body.

  • The number of foundation chains can be increased or decreased to alter the size of the pouch.
  • The size of the hook and the type of yarn also determines the size of the pouch.
  • The number of chains in the foundation chain can be made according to the pattern as 20 or increased to as much as 30
  • I had made 25 chains and increased the rows up to  7 ( whereas the pattern shows only 5 rows )

Can You Teach Me How To Make This?

Last week a friend of mine during a visit happened to see the Crocheted Beanie.

Friend : Did you make this?
Me : Yes!
Friend : How did you make this?
Me : I crocheted this.
Friend : Cro.. Whaaat??
Me : C-R-O-C-H-E-T

Now, I had to explain to her that the 'T' at the end of the word is silent.

She was so impressed by the fact that such a thing can be made at home and instantly expressed her desire to learn to make it. I happily agreed, not at all realizing that how I would teach someone who has never ever seen a crochet hook.

I bought a 3.5 mm hook and some yarn for her. So, we are ready for the first class... Let's see how far it goes.
I think that it is a great opportunity for me to brush up my crochet basics too.

Wow ! Just feel like diving into this.

And here we go.........

I would be posting the day to day log here
